Dave Allmon

Dave Allmon

Trombone

Dave has lived in the Bay Area since graduating from MIT in 2001 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Music. He has studied trombone with Larry Isaacson (Boston Pops), Dave Finlayson (NY Phil), Don Lucas (Texas Tech, Boston University) and Tim Higgins (SF Symphony). Hailing originally from Texas, he started off his trombone performance career at the age of 15 as an extra with the Big Spring Symphony, and served as Co-Second Trombone of the Midland-Odessa Symphony & Chorale for the 1995-1996 season. While in Boston he had the opportunity to perform as a member of the MIT Symphony, Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, and also with the Wellesley Symphony Orchestra and Boston Civic Symphony. He is currently Co-Principal Trombone of the Peninsula Symphony Orchestra.
Like many, Dave has found the Bay Area an excellent place to be, both for technology and music. His interest in helping companies develop and ship new products has led him to roles with Hewlett-Packard, Motorola, Google, and Facebook. Mostly, though, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Michelle and their 5 year old son, Sam. According to Dave, Sam loves wearing bow ties and “performing” on his plastic trombone. It’s looking promising for a future generation of brass musicians!
