John Buschiazzo

Trombone and Euphonium

John Buschiazzo graduated from California State University Hayward with a BA in Music. He has studied trombone with John Maltester, Jack Sudmeier and Dan Livesay. John has maintained an active presence in the Bay Area performing with such diverse groups as:Diablo Symphony,  Diablo Theater Company, Contra Costa Musical Theater, Music Box Theater, Diablo Valley College Symphonic Band, Brazzissimo Brass Band, Bay Area Big Band, Jambalaya Jazz Band, Ken Brock Big Band, Lafayette Studio Big Band and Rory Snyder’s Night Jazz Band. Also, John was a co-founder of  Pacific Brass Quintet.

Since 1980 John has taught instrumental music at Senior and Junior High School and since 1991 he has been the music specialist at John Swett Elementary in Martinez where he teaches Orff Schulwerk based general music to K – 5th graders.

He has served professional music organizations since the beginning of his teaching career. He has held board level positions with California Music Educators Assoc. CMEA, National Association of Jazz Educators NAJE (now IAJE), President of Northern Calif. Orff Schulwerk Assoc. NCAOSA. And has served on the National Board of Trustees for the American Orff Schulwerk Association.
